VISITOR VISA

ABOUT VISITOR VISA

Any eligible person from anywhere in the world is able to visit Canada with a Visitor Visa, commonly referred to as a Temporary Resident Visa. People entering Canada with this visa are not permitted to remain there indefinitely. People can travel to Canada for leisure, conferences, family visits, and any other reason requiring a brief stay, thanks to the Temporary Resident Visa.
There are two types of Temporary Entry Visas: Single Entry and Multiple Entry. A holder of a single-entry visa is only permitted one visit to Canada. The holder of a multiple-entry visa is permitted entry into Canada when required. The validity of the visa is for up to 10 years, or one month before the expiration of the passport, whichever comes first.

Extend your stay as a visitor

For those who are given temporary entry into Canada as visitors but are neither citizens or permanent residents of Canada, an official document known as a visitor record is provided. It describes the terms and length of their stay and acts as documentation of their legal status. Usually, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) or a Canadian immigration official working within Canada, at the port of entry, will issue the visitor record.
Generally, visitors to Canada are granted a maximum of 180 days of stay. If an individual requires a longer stay, they might get a visitor record.
