The automated Express Entry system processes applications from skilled workers seeking permanent residency in Canada. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) are the three programs that Express Entry oversees.
The federal government assesses a candidate's eligibility for an Express Entry program once the individual provides an online profile. Candidates who meet the requirements are admitted into the Express Entry pool and given a ranking based on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The government ranks candidates in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system called the CRS. The CRS score is determined by considering a candidate's age, level of education, work experience, language proficiency, and other criteria.
