A multiple entry visitor visa known as a "super visa" is intended for the parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. It enables holders to remain in Canada without having to reapply for status for a maximum of five years at a time.
Grandparents and parents who qualify can stay in Canada temporarily with the super visa. Parents or grandparents who wish to remain permanently must have a Canadian child or grandchild sponsor them for permanent residence.
